After making an appearance on the latest Benny & Richie Show Jeremy Ray (Junglist) joins us for a special episode of The GAP! With five people sitting around the table things might get a little hectic - we discuss the EA/Activision role reversal, talk about all the games we've been playing and naturally hit all the news of the week (well, all the news we can remember).
We also ask some hard-ish questions of J Ray regarding the circumstances in which he finished hosting Good Game, and Jeremy answers them in good humour. This one's a big one as we squeezed an interview with a genuine games fanatic in - it's two hours and 12 minutes long, and around 90mb! Download Episode 10 of The GAP and tell us what you think! And as always, there's a language warning on The GAP! The GAP Episode 10 Posted 04:50pm 06/11/09 by: Joaby
It's true, I make a short cameo in this episode of Street Talk. If that isn't enough hotness for you, Sally is back to ask the punters at eGames what they'd like to see under their Christmas Tree.
Some of the answers are a little bit out there (who the heck wants Zelda for Christmas when Darksiders is out in January), as are the answerers... It's a good episode though. Head on over to our videos page to watch it, or our downloads page to download it! What do you want under your Christmas Tree?

Andy is back with another Weekly Update - this time he takes a look at the eGames Expo, on last week in Melbourne. He caught us taping Episode 9 of The GAP, checked out what everyone was lining up for at Ubisoft and had a look at the awesome Rock Band 2 setup on the main stage.
He later caught up with Phil Day, the champion Galaga player who had to resubmit his world record attempt after a technicality rendered his previous attempt unusable! Finally, Andy took on Sony's newest addition to your family - the EyePet - to see how it would fit in with his family. Activision sued AGAIN. This time by No Doubt.

Wow, that music game business seemed like an awesome idea awhile back. Big music names, cash, a whole new market.
Times are tough for Activision's music business at present. Rock Band is getting all the kudos for its treatment of The Beatles. Courtney Love just finished smearing mud over the Guitar Hero franchise for how it depicted fallen grunge hero Kurt Cobain. And DJ Hero - the big hope for music gaming cash this Christmas, has gotten off to a slow start. So probably the last thing Activision needs right now is another lawsuit from another band in another of their music range. Yet that's what No Doubt has served up, dealing with their appearance in Band Hero. The band has just issued the following statement: (Continues) Posted 03:39pm 04/11/09 by: Joaby
This episode of The Benny & Richie Show boots off with a bang, with Benny heading to San Francisco for 2K's BioShock 2. After a great look at the prequel to BioShock, Richie talks to Katsuhiro Harada - the Series Director on Tekken, in Australia for the launch of Tekken 6.
We then venture back into Rapture with a look at the BioShock 2 Multiplayer aspect before former presenter for Good Game Jeremy "Junglist" Ray joins the show to get some stuff off his chest (and smash Benny at FIFA). Make sure you read Benny's Hands On with BioShock 2, which is 100% awesome (if you kids can even read any more). Think your arguments over games get serious? They're probably not as grim as those of the Otero household, a family in Houston, Texas. Media reports are claiming 40 year old Ofelio Otero shot and killed his 17 year old son Ignacio during a game-related domestic dispute.
The cause: the father was arguing with his wife about where a missing video game was. Things escalated to the following: (Continues)

Darksiders release date announced

Darksiders, the fantastic looking game from Vigil Games, will hit Australian shores January 7th next year, a press release from THQ announced today. Alongside the release date is a new trailer featuring a mixture of gameplay and cut-scene footage from the game
We've previewed Darksiders before, and it's no secret that we're really looking forward to it. It combines open world action with RPG elements, a crazy scriptural storyline and a killer art style. It just sucks that it was delayed until 2010. Obviously the date at the end of the trailer is for the U.S. - THQ has confirmed a 07.01.10 release date for Aussies on the Xbox 360 and PS3. If you're a newly converted Beatles fan, or perhaps a long time one, you may be interested to note Abbey Road is about to become the first fully playable album available for Beatles: Rock Band.
The strategy looks to be pretty simple: a new album every month. October is Abbey Road, November is Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band, and December will see Rubber Soul. Not so simple is the options for buyers: (Continues) Posted 05:12pm 19/10/09 by: Joaby
The Armageddon Expo hit Melbourne on the weekend just past, and Andy dragged along the gorgeous Sally Arnott to see why punters were in attendance.
The Expo covers a wide range of pop culture elements, so all sorts of people showed up. Make sure you watch the video to see Sally quiz them on their reasons - Andy said he'd try to bring her along to eGames as well, so cross your fingers on that! Street Talk Episode 49
