Thanks to the problems inherent in creating a functional mobile game (small, cramped spaces make multiple quick actions difficult) Amped has real issues being any fun. The game focuses on carving your way down a mountain doing awesome tricks and getting sweet air.
Unfortunately it's too difficult to actually do any tricks - as a result you'll find yourself only really doing the really basic moves over and over again. We experimented and found we were actually able to win a level by doing nothing but the Indy grab (jump and press the jump button again) over and over again.
The graphics are pretty good which is a shame, because the entire game is hampered by the patently unfun control system. With a functional way to actually do tricks Amped could have been good - decent character options, sound and the above average graphics all work in its favour.
Until developers work out a reliable way to make controls on mobile games work we think they should stick more basic fields - classic puzzle and casual games.
If you are the type of person who can SMS faster than they can type on a keyboard, Amped might be worth the time. If you're one of us regular human beings Amped blows a fuse early on.
