Serving as the prequel to id Software’s legendary QUAKE II, Enemy Territory: QUAKE Wars is the ultimate online team and objective-based multi player experience. Set within the epic QUAKE universe in the year 2065, the game pits the Allied troops of the Global Defense Force (GDF) against a new Axis of Evil – the barbaric and technologically advanced Strogg - during their initial invasion of Earth.
Gamers choose to play as Human or Strogg in one of five unique character classes. Employing an arsenal of weapons, vehicles and deployable armaments, players engage in an action-packed test of skill and coordinated teamwork through a series of combat objectives. Persistent character growth and achievements reward players for teamwork, while clearly defined mission and class objectives guide new players to meaningful contributions on the battlefield. In development at Splash Damage, co-creators of the award winning Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory, and in conjunction with id Software, Enemy Territory: QUAKE Wars employs id Software’s new MegaTexture graphics technology, delivering large outdoor battlefields of unrivaled detail. These life-like recreations of real-world environments are designed specifically for objective-based team combat and include realistic terrain, lighting, special effects and atmospheric conditions. overall the game is worth playing if you like a quick shoot'em up with other players you will certainly enjoy ETQW.
between this cod4 and tof2 im going to have to comprimise and only pick two its going to be bloody hard though, but at least i have my halo 3
The developers have taken an old engine for Wolfenstein, and slapped a Quake symbol on it. Boo ID - I have been playing Quake since 1998 and this was an insult to the original FPS.
The servers sit empty with only a few people playing. The game engine itself - compared to other game engines like BF2, BF2142, COD2 is really impressive, but the game play/objective is missing that "spark". When I mean spark I mean, when you play, its trying to get Team Death Match glued together with team work, it just not going to happen. Not only that, so many additional features could make this game so much better for example: * remember your login password * the ability to deploy items anywhere on the map * the ability to prone anywhere on the map * one team has a walk walker(yes I call it a walker-its from my BF2142 days) the other doesn't(there are other examples like this) * The small amount of players 24.
