Unlike every game you've ever played, you can actually lose in capitalism 2. You start off with a small amount of money and can mine/farm/produce/manufacture and retail produce. When you mine, you choose production rates IE. How many refiners/smelters/sales depots. Too many of one and your mine runs the red, not enough demand and your mine runs in the red. Create a production line that uses that mine's resource? What is producing the other materials required and how much are they? How much freight are you paying to transport the required goods to your production facility? Are enough people buying your products or should you market them further?

That's about 10% of what you have to think about with every decision you make. Your company's profit determines your share value. Buy out competitors, perhaps being producing goods buying materials from your competitor but become a 50% share holder in his company first. Own 100% of your company with a high dividend? Purchase media outlets?

I could continue for several paragraphs but it should be obvious to you that the depth in this game is unlike anything ever seen before.

The only criticism I can make is that in spite of in depth, in game guides I found that retail marketing didn't effect the "Label Appeal" of my products as the guide intended. Perhaps it was corrected in a patch not available on Bigpond.com.

In summary. if you want a corporation simulator encompassing every conceivable method of running a profitable business and rack your brain for hours trying to make them profitable, this is for you. If you just want pretty colours and simplicity, avoid it. This is one of the only games I've ever played in which I had to use my brain.
