Gran Turismo 5 is the fifth edition of Sony/Polyphony Digital's Gran Turismo series. It will be the first of the main series to feature on the latest generation of the PlayStation console, the PlayStation 3. Previous editions of the game have featured on the console's two predecessors.

For the first time in the Gran Turismo series, the game is set to feature Ferrari cars.

GT5 will be the first version of the game to feature an online mode.[2] Previous Gran Turismo editions were not able to support online play due to development time or hardware constraints.
