Avoid unnecessary combat.

Avoid killing mutants. They generally don't drop anything useful other than the occasional mutant part. If you are doing a quest that involves killing mutants and/or acquiring a mutant part from them this does not apply to you.

Exploration pays off.

The fast clicking sound means get the hell out of there and take some anti rad or vodka. (Geiger counter clicks when it detects ionizing radiation. Faster clicking means more radiation.)

Remember to save often and use several save files.

Don't save when low on health and med kits.

Weapons in this game are not particularly accurate. Remember to aim down the sights and crouch to increase your accuracy.

Weapons and armor degrade from prolonged used. Remember to buy or scavenge new weapons and armor when your current have degraded to a poor condition.

When you weapon starts to jam frequently, it's time to get a new weapon.

You can find and buy attachments for your weapons such as silences, grenade launches and scopes. Use them, they help.

Once you start the game and talk to Sidorovich, you are then tasked with talking to Wolf, the leader of the rookie Loners in the nearby village. Go to Wolf and talk to him, agree to help rescue Nimble, you will acquire some equipment and a basic pistol. Now is a good time to save the game. Climb the ladder on the building in front of you. Do not go inside the attic of the building but instead walk along the edge of the building, jump onto the roof of the building and sprint forwards and jump onto the building next to the one you were just on. Be careful when jumping from one building to another, try to avoid hurting yourself. Once on the building, walk to the other side of it and you will see a hole in the roof. Inside the attic of this house you will see a crate close to the hole. Try to destroy the create by knifing it. Equip your knife and press the attack button. You may need to crouch to reach it. Once destroyed you will see that the crate contained armor, pick up the armor. If you cannot reach the...
