Game Structure
- Game Team Size : Game play is 6 v. 6
Once a game has been accepted by a defending team, it must be played at the scheduled time, or a forfeit will be given against the team that fails to play. Should your team be in a game and after 15 minutes the opposing team has not arrived, that opposing team forfeits. To produce evidence of this, push F5 and take a screenshot with the scoreboard and timeleft showing.
It would also be advisable for each of the captains to do an rcon status command and screenshot this at the start of each round to later verify Steam ID's to clan members if a dispute arises.
Each team requires at least five players to begin play; teams with less than five players after 15 minutes has elapsed are deemed to have forfeited. Be advised that any game that continues with less than five players on one team is considered a forfeit unless both captains reach an agreement that the match will continue.
- Game Object: Win by highest default score after 2x20min halves.
The teams will play the map selected for 20 minutes each side. At the end of the first 20 minutes, the teams will be required to change to the opposite side and then after a brief warm-up continue the game. Each tournament server runs for 2 hours, therefore teams must complete the game within 2 hours. Any game not completed within 2 hours will result in a forfeit being entered against the defending team (unless the defending team lodges a dispute and can satisfy GameArena that the game was not completed because of time-wasting by the challenging team).
At the end of each half, the team captains will take a screenshot. After each team has played both sides, the challenging team is required to enter a result within 2 hours of completing the game. Failure to enter the result will result in a forfeit by the challenging team. The defending team has 2 hours to verify the score. If the scores entered by both clans differ the match will automatically be disputed and a GameOp will handle the situation. All matches are completed at 4am.
- Challenge Height :
The challenge height is 50% of your team's current ranking, or 8 positions (whichever is greater).
- Scoring :
The GameArena DoD ladder runs on the CAL scoring config for all maps.
- Spawn Time :
Spawn time is set to 10 seconds. However, but this may vary according to the number of players on the server - spawn time is a function of the game and as such can not be reliably set by GameArena.
- Friendly Fire :
Friendly Fire will be on at all times.
Team Members / Slutting
Only players listed on your current roster with registered steamids on GameArena may play in the match. Using players not registered properly ie. WIthout a steamid set or not registered on the clan roster at all, will result in your team being forfeited. We may also consider removing your clan from the ladder altogether for continual offences. Members that have been added to your clan for less than a week are not permitted to play in any formal GameArena Ladder Matches due to slutting. The only exception is if you are a newly formed clan (i.e. the clan formed in less than a week and has been added for less than a week)
Team members are asked to use their Registered GameArena nickname as it appears on their GameArena profile (Under Nickname) in the event of a dispute it makes it easier to identify registered players. However this is NOT compulsory. Players that have been added less than 2 weeks before the conclusion of the formal season are NOT permitted to play in the GameArena Finals, regardless of any prior playing experience with that clan.
Substitutions
All players must be listed in each clan's membership list. Substitutions can be made at half time or in the event of a player dropout; the team can replace that player. Each team is permitted 2 substitutions (including dropouts) in one match. Any more than 2 and your clan will be penalized and forfeit the match.
Cheats
No Cheats are to be used in the GameArena DoD Ladder in any shape or form. It is the captains' responsibility to ensure that their team complies with this rule. For the first offence your clan will be dropped to the bottom of the ladder. Second offence will result in your clan being removed from the DoD Ladder and refused re-entry. All offending players will be permanently banned from all GameArena dedicated servers including Public servers and competition servers. Cheats and Cheating includes, but is not limited to: exploiting commands, gl_alphamin exploits, map hacking (wall hacks, etc), and wireframe drivers. Launching denial of service attacks or packet flooding an opponent, models that extend beyond reasonable bounds, aimbots, speed hacks, or any other gameplay altering cheats.
Cheat Protection
All regulation matches will require all participating players to record a demo of both halves, as an alternative, players can use octinium, but only if they are confident in using the program. It is not an endorsed GameArena program. If a player decides to use octinium as a substitute to recording an in game demo, they need to ensure that they have their netgraph setting on net_graph 4 and have net_graphpos 2 in their config. Additionally the right resolution setting needs to be configured into the program each time it is used, these settings are in the options of the program. Failure to have a demo whether it is an in game demo or an octinium file upon the request of a Gameop will result in the offending member's team being forfeited the match. Additional infractions may result in further action, which could include moving to the bottom of the ladder. Players must keep these files on their computer until the match is completed.
Boosting
Boosting is not tolerated in any form in the GameArena DoD ladder. If your clan/members have been found to be boosting in a clan match, you will face disqualification. Further infractions will result in more serious action; from dropping of positions on the ladder, or to last position.
Spawn Camping
Spawn Camping is not considered a Cheat within this league, and is a valid tactic, however we ask that teams be sportsmen and not spawn camp to the point that it takes away the enjoyment of others (this ladder is meant to be fun!).
Class Limits
Class limits will be enforced, a maximum of:
Rifle: Axis: 2x k98, 1xk48; Allies 3xGarand
Med: 2x per team (Thommy, Grease, Mp40, Etc)
Heavy: 2x per team (Mp44, Bar)
1x Machine Gun per team
1x Sniper per team

Use of Referees
Whilst we encourage teams to play their games by themselves at any point during a challenge, or on the expectation of a challenge by the defending team, you may request a GameArena Referee to be present (but not participating) during your game. You must abide by ALL referee's instructions at all times during the game. The referee's word is final. If you feel that a GameArena referee has interfered with matchplay or has changed server settings, please contact a GameArena Gameop as soon as possible. Should your team be disruptive during the game after repeated requests by a referee to stop, you will forfeit the game. Should you continue to do this your team will be removed from the ladder. The request of a Referee is exactly that - a referee will attend your match if available; however we do not guarantee that a referee will be available. Teams are encouraged to avoid the use of referees where possible.

Once the winner is decided, they will be declared Season Champion. In all subsequent ladders the Season Champions will be recognised in their info pages. As soon as is possible after a break the ladder will commence for another season.

The finals format will run over a period of 4 weeks, with a match rate of 1 game a week. Further finals information will be posted by the DoD GameOps at a later date.
*Games that are marked optional will be played unless both captains of the teams involved reach a mutual agreement that the match will not be played, and the highest end of season ranking will be awarded the win. This decision has to be sighted by a Gameop.
Game times are decided on by the clan captains and then organized by the Gameops. It is first in best dressed, so if there are overlaps, the clan to book after the first booking will have to wait until after the match on that night, or choose another day. Days and times that cannot be agreed on by the clan captains will then be organized by the Gameops. Failure to turn up to scheduled matches within 15mins of the planned time will result in the clan in question to be forfeited.
Amendments
Amendments will be made in the event of a new bug or exploit that hinders playability or the gameplay of DoD. Any changes will be effective immediately, and will be posted on the GameArena DoD forums and emailed to clan captains by a Day of Defeat GameOp.
