Alot of people go straight for the head or they aim above the head and move the mouse down towards the head, that is fine if you can master that technique. An easier one is to aim at the chest and move your mouse up, that way even if you dont hit there head you still take off alot of damage (the head and the chest are the vital points).
Another is if you dont have much life left take cover around a corner and pop out for a split second and aim at an enemy but Don't Shoot get the cursor on the head then pop out wonce more (side stepping), that way the cursor is on the head and you will have more chance of killing them faster.
Alot of people dont use the glock but it is a ausome pistol when used correctly. It has very little recoil so you can keep shooting at their head non-stop and there is no recoil. It is also good for shooting and side stepping on burst-fire.
First things first: ALWAYS buy a sidearm when awping. If you miss, you don't want a glock as your last resort.
The main thing to remember about awping is to aim above the legs and try to center your shot as much as possible. Hitting leg will usually end up with a person running around with about 16hp and you dieing unneccesarily.
When you can aim, it's good to learn how to jump around corners quickly, without losing accuracy. The best way is to strafe out, looking in the general direction of your opponent, duck-jump just before the corner and let go of duck just before hitting the ground. In this way, your recoil will be 0 and if you aim at them, you will hit. Unless you're unscoped. In which case you will pull out your trusty deagle and kill them. If you miss, don't bother trying to get back around that corner, coz you will only die.
There is a number of different ways people can use to shoot effectively at their enemy.
The most effective and easiest is only firing in bursts for any and all full-auto weapon. Aiming towards the chest is essential, trying to bring the cursor up towards the head as you shoot. This works best with AK or Colt.
Another less effective way is to learn how the guns recoil works and going full out with the gun, bringing the cursor down to compensate for recoil. Many bullets miss to each side, but there is a good chace of headshot. This works best with MP5.
The last way is to make your self as hard a target as possible by jumping around like a maniac, getting very close and pumping them full of lead. Hard to do againt good players who will just mow you down before you get to 'em, but you can mabye keep them behind cover by shooting at them with a pistol until you get close enough to shoot them with a well aimed shot at the chest with a Shotgun. This is always fun, as shotgun is a rarely used gun in CS.
Okay let's start with DO'S:
1.relax, just calmly aim for the head or chest.
2.When warring buy defusial kit EVERY round
3.Glock is a great gun because it has low recoil, use it.
4.Now an easy technique to get a headshot is to burst fire with the colt on the chest, that way if you don't get a headshot, atleast you hit the chest
DONT'S:
1.When you are standing still and shooting at someone, you might as well crouch, don't just stand there. Move around or crouch.
2. When awping, try not to move, sometimes people move on the last moment and you miss. Just relax
3. Don't spray like crazy, control your spray, while spraying move your crosshair down.
4.Don't camp when your all on your own, just rush it and do it for SPARTA
