Rugby Challenge 2: The Lions Tour Edition Announced
A second Rugby Challenge is on its way to PC, PS3 and Xbox 360 - and just in time for the Lions tour as well. Appropriately the game is called The Lions Tour Edition because subtlety is lost on those from the land of the long white cloud.
The new game includes new licences, including the British and Irish Lions, bringing the total number of teams to more than 110. They didn't say how many more than 110 - I'm guessing 112. ![]() So what is this new game bringing to the table? According to the press release, Refined and expanded gameplay with the addition of quick taps, quick lineouts, mauls from lineouts, interceptions, contesting ball at the breakdown, removing players from the ruck, number 8 scrum pickups, and dynamic in game team strategies on both attack and defence. What exactly did Rugby Challenge the first involve if they're adding all of this? They're adding "interceptions" to the game? Contesting the ball at the breakdown wasn't there previously? Was the challenge of Rugby Challenge attempting to find a game of Rugby in there? They haven't given us a firm release date yet, but they're aiming for "midyear 2013" - you can rest assured I'll review it as soon as I can.
