Torment: Tides of Numenera hits Kickstarter - The Karach sings true
It was almost a year ago when we first heard word of Colin McComb's attempt to bring out a spiritual sequel to Planescape: Torment. And then last night it happened - Brian Fargo's development studio inXile Entertainment announced that the Kickstarter for said spiritual sequel - Torment: Tides of Numenera, was now looking for $900,000.
Six hours later they had met their goal. It is as of this moment, currently at $1,283,719 with 30 days to go - a phenomenal feat. So what is it? Like the ever-popular PS:T, Tides of Numenera will be a single player isometric RPG with a rich dialogue system. Tides of Numenera will have a great deal of choice and conseqence and will (obviously) be set in the RPG setting of Numenera's Ninth World, in which a medieval society sits atop the ruins of powerful but forgotten civilizations. You can read more about Torment: Tides of Numenera over on the official Kickstarter - the team expect the game to be available by December 2014, but stretch goals may push that date into 2015. While we're talking about Kickstarter though, you should check out Race the Sun from my last funstravaganza - the demo is addictive as heck and they are currently 16 hours and $5000 short of their goal. Anyway, back to Torment - what do you think, are you excited for a new RPG? Have you backed it yet? Let us know in the comments below.
