Assassin's Creed 4: Black Flag announced!

At the end of last week some pictures were released showing off a new title - Assassin's Creed 4. Then, on the weekend the debut trailer for Assassin's Creed 4: Black Flag was leaked - and you can check it out right now below! Ubisoft seem (at this first glance) to have taken heed of the public's opinion of Assassin's Creed 3; ie - it's an alright game with some really annoying scripting, but that ship combat kicks freaking ass.

Yes, it seems Black Flag, which will be available on October 31st this year, will have a heavy focus on ship combat, so I am on board. That's a nautical joke. Given what the trailer says, it seems we might be playing Edward Kenway - the Assassin father of Haytham Kenway and Connor's grandfather.

Ubisoft have said the game will, like Assassin's Creed 3, have exclusive content for the PlayStation 3, and it will also be available on the PC, Xbox 360, Wii U and, more interestingly, the PlayStation 4 and Microsoft's as-of-yet unnamed new console.
