Team Meat reveals Mew-Genics - a cat lady sim!

Team Meat are the indie duo responsible for the brilliant Super Meat Boy (check out my review and the 5 Inch Floppy to learn how brilliant) and the similarly excellent Binding of Isaac (which you can also check out on the 5 Inch Floppy.) And now they have fully revealed their next title - Mew-Genics.

They have actually been releasing tidbits of information about the game for the past 4 months - we haven't mentioned it until this point however, because there was nothing of substance to report on - until now. Mew-Genics is a cat-lady sim, described by the developers as a blend of Animal Crossing, Pokemon, Tamagotchi and The Sims - an intriguing sounding mash-up to be sure. The visual combinations of cats you'll be able to create number a whopping 25418658283290000000000000 - and that isn't factoring in their sizes, animations, personality and various other stats.

The exact gameplay has not yet been explained, but it seems like an open sandbox where you experiment with cats, while the game sets challenges for you to meet. The official blog post details one of the scenarios the devs found themselves in, which in classic Team Meat style is a blend of weird, silly and incredibly disturbing. Mew-Genics will be released sometime this year on Steam, iOS and Android - I can't wait. How about you? Let us know in the comments below!

I sense this potentially becoming a beloved part of Dwarf Fortress players' gaming library.

I wish I could be a dwarf fortress player. I sincerely do. I just can't wrap my head around it.

This sounds like the single worst time killer I've ever seen... I honestly cannot fathom why anyone would want to play this. I mean, more power to people if you do, I don't think less of you as a person or anything... But, I mean... Just boggles my mind.

I always got the impression that the objective in tamagotchi was to kill the animal but turns out it kills itself. I don't get it either.
