2K and WWE announce partnership

As the rumours stated in January, the WWE has tagged in 2K Games for a multi-year deal which will see WWE game fans with more of those games they love to buy each year. Further, the game will published under the 2K Sports label - instantly doubling the Sports label's stable.



The games will still be developed by Yukes - the studio behind the THQ published games - but those of us who love our "Sports Entertainment" should be excited anyway, as the team at Visual Concepts (responsible for the NBA series) has demonstrated great work in implementing RPG systems which would carry across well to the WWE series.

Greg Thomas, Executive Vice President of 2K Sports, said,

The development work on the WWE franchise is impressive, and we’re excited to combine our background in developing the NBA 2K series with theirs in this new partnership. Fans can expect the most authentic WWE experience on game consoles this fall.

WWE '14 will be out in Spring this year.
