Far Cry 3 patch injects life into the endgame
When Far Cry 3 first came out I played the heck out of it. And while I enjoyed my time as Jason Brody, there were a couple of things I thought it lacked. As you will remember from my article discussing Far Cry 3's shortcomings, one of things I lamented the most was the lack of anything to do in the end game.
And now it seems like someone at Ubisoft realised how clever I am, as they announced in a forum post yesterday that upcoming patches would feature a swag of community inspired features - like the ability to reset outposts, a new difficulty setting and several multiplayer enhancements like a more informative feedback system and map beta testing. Naturally, I am most excited about the ability to reset outposts. As I explained in my article, upon clearing the 34 outposts scattered throughout the Rook Islands you are left with a largely peaceful tropical paradise, with only the occasional tiger or cassowary to threaten your life. Soon however, clearing all 34 outposts will let you access an option in the menu, and you will be able to reset the outposts back to their unclaimed status - letting you take them back all over again. In many games that would be kind of pointless, but the random and chaotic nature of Far Cry 3 means things should be somewhat different this time around. Are you still playing Far Cry 3, or will this draw you back in? Let us know in the comments below!
