PSASBR developers SuperBot part ways with Sony
SuperBot Entertainment - the developers of PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale - are no longer working exclusively for Sony, Kotaku learned today. SuperBot Entertainment was formed in 2009 by Shannon Studstill - formerly of Sony Santa Monica - it is Sony Santa Monica who will continue support and DLC development of All-Stars in the future.
The split was amicable, as both Sony and SuperBot's Director of Operations David Yang explained in statements. Yang also told Kotaku that no layoffs were planned yet - although the company did reduce their workforce back at the end of January and they aren't sure how long they can operate with a full staff. Yang remains optimistic however: We are extremely grateful to have had the opportunity to work on with Sony on Playstation All-Stars Battle Royale, and are extremely proud of the work we have done. SuperBot Entertainment will continue working on projects that reflect our passion for games and our commitment to creating award winning titles. We are very excited about beginning the next chapter of our future and invite all of our fans and supporters to follow our journey. PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale has been moderately popular, particularly among gamers in the competitive fighting scene. You can read Mario_Bones excellent review of the game right here. The first DLC for All-Stars is expected to hit later this month, featuring Kat from the excellent PS Vita game Gravity Rush and Emmett Graves from Starhawk.
