Sony confirms September 18 release for Killzone: Mercenary
I don't get the love for Killzone. Killzone 3 is a well built, beautiful looking game that I can't feel anything other than apathy about. I don't know what it is really - though I've never been a big FPS guy. I know quite a few people will be eagerly anticipating September 18th this year however - as Sony today announced the next title in the Killzone Universe - Killzone Mercenary - will be available on PS Vita on that day.
Killzone: Mercenary will obviously follow a mercenary - this one named Arran Danner. A former soldier for the UCA, Danner doesn't mind working for either side - the ISA or the Helghast - as long as he gets paid. As is often the case however, he begins to wonder if money is really everything when he finds himself protecting an Ambassador's son from both sides. Mercenary is built using the same engine as Killzone 3, so we can expect it to look pretty great and will come with about nine hours of single player as well as six multiplayer maps and three modes - with DLC expected to expand on that later. The multiplayer will allow for up to eight players - four on each side. Embedded below is the gameplay trailer for Killzone Mercenary - although it is on Youtube, so it's metered content. I'm interested to see how it all works - to make up for the missing L2, R2, L3 and R3 the game assigns commands like grenades to the touch screen and I'd like to see how well that works. What do you think, are you looking forward to Killzone: Mercenary or is it not your cup of tea either? Let us know in the comments below!
