Jay Wilson leaves Diablo 3 for greener, Blizzardier pastures

Jay Wilson, the Director on Diablo 3, announced today on the official battle.net forums that he was leaving that game's production team. The move takes place after Wilson's seven years helming the development of Diablo 3, seeing the project from concept stages through to release and beyond.

Wilson's tenure has had its fair share of controversy - along with an inappropriate Facebook comment to Diablo 2's David Brevik, he also bore the brunt of people's anger and disappointment over Diablo 3. You know, after everyone stopped letting hype cloud their judgement (although one site never let it.)

Over the next few weeks Wilson will leave Diablo 3 and move onto another, as of yet unnamed Blizzard project. Naturally Blizzard are looking for someone else to fill his shoes - and I think we can guarantee they will be swarmed with joke submissions from disgruntled fans claiming to know more than Wilson. Wilson's exodus takes place shortly before the long-awaited 1.0.7 patch goes live, adding new crafting recipes, monster affixes and, of course, PVP duels. We wish Jay Wilson the best of luck, and likewise to the rest of the Diablo 3 team.

You forgot to add "They're going to need it." to the end.

D3 was the biggest let down of 2012.

I am finally beginning to see the lure of torchlight 2, having reached level 60 previously and not been thrilled about the game - playing it multiplayer is staggeringly different. I still think Titan Quest was better though, if TQ had randomized maps I would play it forever.
