Capcom announces Street Fighter X Mega Man
Street Fighter is winding up its 25th anniversary celebrations at the close of this year, but 2013 marks the 25th anniversary of another beloved Capcom series - Mega Man. And so Capcom have decided to celebrate in possibly the best way possible - by making a game mashing up the two franchises! Best of all, the game - Street Fighter X Mega Man - will be a free downloadable title for the PC, available via the Capcom-Unity site from the 17th of December.
The game follows the 8-bit aesthetic of the original Mega Man and has the blue bomber run through 8 stages, each of which end with him squaring off against Street Fighter characters. It was developed by Singaporean Superfan Seow Zong Hui, who approached Christian Svensson with a barebones version at EVO 2012 - and the music was designed by A_Rival, mashing up chiptune tracks from both games. You can watch the trailer for Street Fighter X Mega Man embedded below, or alternatively in our video library. As a Sega kid Mega Man was never my thing, but I can definitely appreciate this. What do you think, are you going to grab it come the 17th? Let us know in the comments below!
