Curiosity may not land on PC, snowed under by mobile
You remember Curiosity right? The first in a series of twenty-two experiments by Peter Molyneux and his new company, 22Cans? The game about tapping at a cube, attempting to break down the layers and access the 'life-changing secret' at the centre? Well it came out last week, on Android and iOS - but in an interview with Rock, Paper, Shotgun, Molyneux explained that there were already too many people tapping away at the cube without adding PC people to the mix: “We would love to do a PC version, but we are currently snowed under by the number of people using the Curiosity experiment (coming up to one million) in a few days. This is pushing our servers to the limit. We are currently all surviving on less than three hours sleep a night. I guess if we could find a publisher who could take on the work of a PC version we could consider it.” Problems haven't abated as time progressed however, with the onslaught of players causing issues to appear with coins and user connections. 22Cans updated their Facebook page on Saturday explaining their current progress - hopefully things will settle down soon and they'll get some sleep. You can start tapping away at the cube yourself on iOS and Android - have you played Curiosity yet? What do you think? Let us know in the comments below! |
