Call of Duty Elite changes with Black Ops 2
Activision have today announced some changes to Call of Duty Elite - the subscription service giving players access to a variety of player statistics, social networkery, exclusive COD-based content and DLC for a monthly fee. Primarily, COD Elite features for Black Ops 2 will be free - no subscription required.
COD Elite has a free counterpart currently, but when Black Ops 2 is released on November 13th, all aspects of the service will be free - although naturally DLC is now a separate entity. Call of Duty fans will be able to purchase the four map packs being designed for the game separately or at a discount in a Season Pass. As always, the four map packs will be timed exclusives for the Xbox 360, costing 1200 Microsoft Points per pack, or 4000MSP for the Season Pass. Call of Duty Elite's upcoming free status is no doubt great news for COD fans, particularly in light of the new features Treyarch recently announced for COD Elite - including the Pick 10 Create A Class system designed to add more variety to player loadouts and the brand new Score Streaks system. Are you looking forward to getting your hands on Call of Duty Elite's premium features for free with Black Ops 2, or are you annoyed that a bunch of scrubs are going to infest your previously paywalled service?
