Guild Wars 2 suffers start-up issues

The 3-day headstart for Guild Wars 2 kicked off on the weekend and while many of those who pre-purchased the game have been having a lot of fun, others have not. As is almost always expected of MMO games, it has suffered some serious issues as it gets its feet and deals with the influx of new players. While some users had problems actually getting into the game (like Joaby) the majority of issues centred around guild management and the Trading Post - which controls both the in-game store and Guild Wars 2's Auction House.

ArenaNet are of course, working hard to get all of the problems under control ahead of Guild Wars 2's official launch tomorrow, although it wouldn't be too surprising if the pre-order head-start (beginning tonight at 5pm AEST) exacerbated the issue further. Currently you can check out the Guild Wars 2 Support for more information on errors - and while it would be nice if ArenaNet had some method of notifying players in game, you should currently check out the official Twitter account and Facebook page for notices. Did you manage to get into the head start, or are you looking forward to getting in tonight or tomorrow? What server did you choose? Sea of Sorrows - the unofficial Australian server - or somewhere else? Let us know in the comments below!

Not to disparage your work on news, limimi, but does it really need to be said that an MMO has issues at launch? Maybe write up if one comes out and ISN'T a piece of crap for the first few weeks.

Haha he sent me a message saying "what should I title this news story" and I said something like MMO suffers launch hassles - in other news; water wet, sky blue.

It's a good news post though, a lot of people won't know where they should be looking for support.

GuildWarsGuru picked "Isle of Jinhir" for tis official community based server, I highly reccomend it.

Sea of Sorrows was chosen by Failpool and is the official server for "9gag Army" and "4chan/Anon", good luck on there lmfao.

IoJ and SoS are both full anyway. I'm on Anvil Rock, but I don't think I have it in me to keep playing.

Thats because they allow free transfers for the startup period of the game... I created on a different server and then xferred to Sea.

As for the issues. At least we could play, almost the entire time - which is more than I can say for most other MMO startups. Oh and they kept people informed literally every 20 minutes - with updates on FB.

About as flawless as you can expect for an MMO start from my perspective!

Of course, the first comment about paying with coins is kind of genius too! For more of my wisdom here:
