Darksiders 2 Crucible and New Game + explained
THQ released some more information about Darksiders 2 today, explaining that along with a massive free roaming action-rpg, the game will also feature an arena challenge called The Crucible, in which you fight 100 waves of enemies to access better loot. In short, every 5 rounds you'll be presented with an item - you can take it or you can continue fighting for another 5 rounds. Naturally, only once you get up towards the hundred mark will the loot get really good - and of course the fights will get harder.
Adding to my already incredibly high anticipation for the game is the other announcement THQ made today - Darksiders 2 will feature a New Game Plus option once you finish it. New Game Plus will be familiar to JRPG fans - it made its debut in Chrono Trigger, giving fans a chance to replay a game with an edge. Selecting New Game Plus will start the game again at a higher difficulty than you previously played it on, but you will keep all the gear and abilities you accrued over your previous playthrough. Embedded below is the latest TV Spot trailer for Darksiders 2, which you can also find in our videos library. Darksiders 2 gets released next week - look out for Joaby's review around the same time!
