Details for Battlefield 3: Aftermath have started trickling out, and it looks like the next, next DLC pack for BF3 will involve wrecked Tehran and new Urban Warfare maps.

Set amongst the shattered districts, streets and surrounding villages of a post-earthquake Tehran Battlefield 3: Aftermath depicts a continuing struggle for supremacy and survival amongst the devastation.

With operational capacity severely compromised the opposing forces must adapt and engage in vertical and horizontal urban combat amongst the dust and rubble with cracks and fissures in the terrain providing unexpected cover and paths to objectives. Additional support comes in the form of heavily modified troop transports and civilian vehicles specially adapted to deliver deadly force to the enemy.

  • Urban warfare on four new maps

  • Fight through the dust and rubble, use the earthquake damaged terrain to your tactical advantage

  • New heavily modified military and civilian vehicles – ingenuity and firepower combined

  • New game mode

  • New assignments, achievements and dog tags

On the one hand, urban warfare is my favourite sort of warfare. On the other, isn't half the fun of BF3 destroying maps on your own? That was the pitch for Close Quarters, right - all new beautiful destruction - but Aftermath is set in an already destroyed Tehran.

Ok, I'll admit it, I just like seeing something happen when I shoot and miss all the time.

Sounds like a lot of pickup trucks with .50 cals mounted in the tray, a la Black Hawk Down. Insurgents vs. Americans, or a mix of insurgents and trained soldiers?

I have some suggestions:

Monkey Knife Fight: Players are armed only with knives and defibs. Star Trek Gladiator music plays 24/7

King Of The Mountain: Take an Aircraft and parachute onto the highest mountain point. Other players must attempt to knock you off with the wing of the aircraft, making them KING!

Demolition Derby: Players are forced into land bound craft or sea bound craft and points are awarded for tipping over the other players.

Kamakazi: Attempt to crash aircraft into players on the ground, on foot or in vehicles.

Mine-craft: A "Simon Says" style game where players need to navigate through a mine field. Players are armed with rocks to detonate nearby land mines in order to kill others.
