Google Australia puts LEGO in your Chrome browser
Google Australia announced a new project yesterday titled Build. An experiment under development in Sydney, Build lets you build with LEGO blocks directly onto a map of Australia in your Chrome browser. Simply find an empty plot of land (there are heaps free up in Queensland) and start making your LEGO masterpiece.
The experiment is part of the LEGO Festival of Play, celebrating 50 years of LEGO in Australia. While the controls take a little getting used to, people have already started building some cool stuff - and it's only been up for two days. Naturally, there are some rules for what you build - no dirty stuff, nothing political or religious, no advertisements and no copyright infringement. Basically, the stuff you'd expect from a free building game based on a childrens' toy. I can't remember who originally tipped me off about this - if it was you I'm sorry. I got distracted when you ruined the rest of my day yesterday by letting me play with LEGO in my browser.
