Nintendo announces 3DS XL and more
Nintendo just held a session of Nintendo Direct, announcing a new, bigger 3DS - named the 3DS XL, which comes with a 90% bigger screen and better battery life at between 6-10 hours. Confusingly however, it does not come with a 2nd analogue stick built in. To keep costs down, the system will not come with the dock which came with the 3DS, but it will come with a 4GB SD Card.
The Nintendo Direct presentation also had several games listed - Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance will be released in Australia in late July, New Super Mario Bros. 2 will hit in August and while we have yet to receive confirmation for Australian release dates for Professor Layton and the Miracle Mask, Animal Crossing and Fire Emblem, the presentation explained the first will hit Europe in Spring and the other two will hit Europe in the first half of 2013. All are expected to be available as digital downloads as well as retail.
