Square-Enix's new engine looks outstanding

Yesterday Square Enix debuted their new tech demo, titled Agni's Philosophy. And holy crap. It looks pre-rendered, but it's all in engine and real time. It's built using Square Enix's new game engine Luminous Studio, which is built for next generation devices according to the press release - so don't expect to see this on your PlayStation 3 or Xbox 360 any time soon.

OK, that's nice, I guess. Puts the thousands of hours it took to render The Spirits Within to shame. But unless you actually plan to get back into movies SE, come back when you have impressive tech demos running on CONSUMER GRADE HARDWARE.

Hopefully this will land on the next gen consoles. Won't have to spend 5K on a PC rig which would be outdated in 3 months anyway. $900 or so on a console seems alot more reasonable.
