E3 2012: Battlefield Premium plans revealed
Finding out Australia specific information about Battlefield pricing has been incredibly difficult, but I finally have it - apologies for the delay. For those unfamiliar with Battlefield Premium, it's a premium service for Battlefield 3 fans to get early and exclusive access to in game goodies - similar to Call of Duty Elite, but for a better game. Heh.
Purchasing Battlefield Premium will get you early access to all five of the expansion packs for Battlefield 3 - Back to Karkand, Close Quarters, Armored Kill, End Game and the newly announced Battlefield 3: Aftermath. So all up, you'll get 20 maps, 4 game modes and the plethora of new weapons and vehicles which come with the expansions. You'll also get new camo options for your character and weapons and deeper personalisation options - whatever that might mean. Currently the Battlefield Premium pack is showing up at $79.95AUD on the PlayStation 3, $66.50 (4000 MSP) on the Xbox 360 and only $50AUD on EA's Origin store - so clearly the PC is the only platform you should purchase it on until somebody explains why they would charge so much extra for a digital download. The extra $30 you'll pay on the PS3 is not without benefits however - PS3 has exclusive access to the Close Quarters pack from now until next week. The extra $16 you'll pay on the 360 will get you wishing you didn't live in Australia. Embedded below is the the Battlefield Premium trailer, which gives you an overview of the expansions and the features you'll get with the service. Naturally, you can also watch it in our videos library. Are you getting Battlefield Premium? Let us know in the comments below! |
