E3 2012: Pre E3 Video Round Up

In the mad rush to get noticed it seems like everyone has put out trailers before E3 this year, with most of them popping up on Saturday. I was so excited about the Dishonored trailer that I wrote about it before going back into the videos library and seeing it continuously filling up with more and more content. When would it stop? I didn't know. So here we are, on a beautiful sunny Monday - ready to check out the videos of the weekend. I won't list every video - just the ones I think are most worth watching.

Konami kicks things off with two videos - one for Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance and one for their newly announced Castlevania: Lord of Shadows 2 - which I've embedded below. Along with Lord of Shadows 2, Konami announced that their upcoming 3DS Castlevania would be a part of the Lord of Shadows series - called Mirror of Fate. As a giant fan of Castlevania's 2D titles on the Gameboy Advance and DS I was a little disappointed, but we'll have to wait and see. Regardless, Lord of Shadows 2 looks pretty spectacular - cinematic trailer or not.

Continuing with Konami, mecha fans will definitely want to check out the new Zone of Enders HD Collection trailer and the Zone of Enders HD Collection Opening Animation - especially the Opening Animation, which looks outstanding.

Next up is the trailer for the reboot of Tomb Raider - a game which I had no interest in previously. This trailer however, looks freaking grim - and I am keen to see where Crystal Dynamics go with the series.

The incredibly beautiful ArmA 3 preview follows Tomb Raider. This is just a sneak peek of what will be on show at E3 - including the night-based gameplay.

Then we have Quantum Conundrum - the upcoming multi-platform First Person Puzzler by Kim Swift of Portal fame. Unlike many of the titles we'll see at E3, this one actually comes out soon - on the PC at least, on June 21st.

As you no doubt already know, my game of the year last year is coming to the PC with the Dark Souls: Prepare to Die Edition. Recently Namco-Bandai also explained that those who want to continue to play on the PlayStation 3 or Xbox 360 will get access to the new content in the form of the Artorias of the Abyss DLC - good news for those of us not willing to pay for a bad port of a game we already own.

Tokyo Jungle is a bizarre new title in which animals fight across a deserted Japan. This trailer is a Japanese TV short, not a trailer designed for E3, but it looks awesome regardless so I'm including it.

Next is a trailer for End of Nations - the upcoming Free to Play MMORTS from the developers of Star Wars Empire At War. The trailer features commentating, presumably to help make some sense of what's going on, but if you can make sense of it you're a better man than I am Gunga Din.

The next trailer we have is for Sports Champions 2 - the sequel to everybody's favourite Bocce simulator. This time around you get Golf, Skiing, Bowling, Archery, Boxing and... no Bocce? Not even Frolf? WHAT IS THIS RUBBISH. Don't worry folks, I'm sure they just forgot to include them, or they just assumed we would take it for given that Bocce and Frolf would be in there. I'm sure that's it. I... I have to go lie down.

The ZoE collection trailer link is broken and the Arma3 vid is a little flakey where it cuts out after a minute and a half. other than that cool stuff.
