5 Inch Floppy wins best Video Program at 'The Lizzies'
The 10th Annual Microsoft IT Journalism Awards - or the 10th annual Lizzies - were on last Friday night, and GameArena's 5 Inch Floppy picked up the award for best Video Program, which is an extraordinary effort for the two man team of Junglist and Matthew Maunsell. The show also picked up a Highly Commended nod for 'Best Gaming Coverage'.
The other winner in the gaming world was Kotaku AU, who won the aforementioned award for Best Gaming Coverage, won best Gaming Journalist (congrats, Tracey Lien) and - apparently for the first time ever - Best Journalist (again, grats to Tracey Lien). Because the awards typically have a tech journalism focus this is the first time a gaming journo has won the big award. It's also why I haven't won 'Best Reviewer' every year in a row (even the years I wasn't a reviewer!). Anyway, congratulations to all the winners on the night - but the biggest congratulations goes to the Lizzies, for realising what we all already knew!
