"Extended Cut" Free DLC coming to Mass Effect 3 this Winter
Just yesterday, an Online Poll at The Consumerist declared EA "The Worst Company in America". And just yesterday, EA's Vice President for Corporate Communications Jeff Brown told gamesindustry that it has no intention of removing any of the LGBT content found in games like Mass Effect 3 - now or in the future.
And now EA and Bioware are announcing the addition of an Extended Cut DLC, coming in Winter - to give those fans disappointed by Mass Effect 3's ending some closure and resolution. As Dr Ray Muzyka said in the announcement today: "Since launch, we have had time to listen to the feedback from our most passionate fans and we are responding. With the Mass Effect 3: Extended Cut we think we have struck a good balance in delivering the answers players are looking for while maintaining the team's artistic vision for the end of this story arc in the Mass Effect universe." And while some more paranoid conjecture about the net expected this entire affair to be an attempt to milk more money out of customers with a 'paid for' ending, the Extended Cut DLC will be completely free. This seems like a pretty decent solution for Bioware, giving those fans who are upset something else to watch, while the rest can just ignore it. How it all goes down however, we will have to wait and see.
