April Fools' Day Round Up
So yesterday was April 1st, which means one thing - April Fools' Day. Some people hate it, some people love it, some are sick of it and some are just sick. Actually, I couldn't find any that were just sick, but I liked the poetry of that sentence. Moving on, listed below are just some of the better April Fools' Day pranks - if you've spotted any others mention them in the comments below.
Kicking things off in style, we have Google's offering. Google do something every year and it's usually pretty good, but this one is not only good, it's video game related. Google have finally announced Google Maps for the NES! You can even try the trial version on your PC by making your way to Google Maps for 8-bit Quest Maps. It even has the little Dragon Quest warrior in it and by exploring the world you can find monsters and check out pixely landmarks.
Just like looking out of a plane! Specifically, the plane from After Burner. Next we have Razer's decision to launch Team Razer - a competitive gaming team dedicated to mobile gaming. After recent developments, these 'm-sports' athletes are a shoe in for the WCG. Former e-sports celebrities become m-sports celebrities, with Chiren “Athene” Boumaaza a Robot Unicorn pro and Park “DongRaeGu” Soo Ho a Plants vs Zombies pro. My favourite gag this year would have to go to Harmonix, with their announcement of the Rock Band Board Game. Full of jokes about themselves and Rock Band, the commercial for the board game version of Rock Band is totally worth a watch. Which is why I've embedded it below - although it's a YouTube clip, so it won't be unmetered content for Bigpond users: There are many more April Fools' Day jokes out there, were there any which caught your eye?
