Path of Exile going Open Beta this weekend

Are you looking for something to do this weekend? Something dark and bloody and diabloesque - prior to the inclusion of all the rainbows and unicorns of Diablo 3? You should hop on over to the Path of Exile website then and sign up for this weekend's public stress test!

Path of Exile is a blend of action RPG and MMO currently being developed by the New Zealand based Grinding Gear Games. With persistent worlds and characters, the set up will seem familiar to players of the original Guild Wars - Communal areas are large hubs with no limit (or an artificial limit) on the amount of players, while PVE and PVP areas are instanced and designed for party based combat. Most importantly however, the combat areas are randomly generated - so each experience will be different.

Signing up for stress test will put you in the running for an invitation to the closed beta, although if you get in before me I will be pretty upset, given I signed up last year. The beta will be open from 11:00am AEDT on Saturday to 5:00pm AEDT on Monday.
