The Weekly Video Round Up - Welcome to Earf
Welcome one and all to the Weekly Video Round Up - where I go through and catalogue some of the videos you might have missed from last week. This week we'll start with a weird one - the Cradle Gameplay Trailer. Cradle is a Ukranian made First Person Adventure game in which you attempt to rebuild your robot girlfriend and explore your surroundings. It looks weird - and if Pathologic and the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. games have taught us anything, it's that Eastern Europe is good at weird. Ok, maybe Pathologic isn't a great example, but you get my point. It's something in the water I think.
Next up we have the trailer for Pandora's Tower - the third Wii game in the list of titles Operation Rainfall wanted Nintendo to bring out of Japan. It's always a little difficult for some to watch Wii trailers because the Wii only does standard definition, but like Xenoblade Chronicles, Pandora's Tower looks very nice. The music in the trailer is great too and the game boasts real time combat, multiple endings and a unique relationship system - so it should definitely be on your list if you want something to play on the Wii.
Moving on to something with a little more bite, we have the Tactical Intervention Teaser Trailer - the new free to play FPS developed by Minh Gooseman Le of Counter Strike fame. Tactical Intervention looks very promising, although when it's coming out, or entering the next phase of its beta program after last year is nowhere to be seen. You can check out the official site right here if you like though. Alan Wake's American Nightmare hits the Xbox Live Arcade this week and so if you're a fan of the first game (which also just came out on PC) you should watch the Launch Trailer right now! American Nightmare sees intrepid writer Alan once again up against his evil doppelganger Mr Scratch, though now he is trapped in an alternate reality Night Springs where things are significantly worse. You can also look forward to our review of American Nightmare soon.
Finally to wrap up today, we have the Mass Effect 3 'Take Earth Back' Cinematic Trailer. As a cinematic trailer it has no in game footage and is more about setting the scene and getting the player invested emotionally than displaying the product - and it did an outstanding job of getting me invested. Why isn't Mass Effect 3 out already? It's rude I think.
