Diablo 3 vs Torchlight 2

Diablo 3 just looks cooler... Torchlight is great but I don't know about those big cartoony/WOW looking characters

and yeah D3 for it's darker theme (aka not having a ferret as a pet)

of course d3's gonna be better, i mean come on, its Diablo 3.... but yeah I'll probably give Tochlight 2 a go I want to see how they have improved on it from the first one.

d3 will be better because we'll all stay a while and listen...

Torchlight because it supports lan and I enjoyed the first 1. Blizzard isn't getting my money ever again either.

Someone will release a graphic filter mod to make it look grittier imo.

I'm pretty sure that 'how it should look like' side is just the same but with some sort of grainy concrete texture layered over it.

Well Torchlight was boring - don't expect Torchlight 2 to be any better.

Torchlight 2 really, really, really needs to release itself before Diablo III to be able to get any impact. The first Torchlight was only good as it was the only new Action RPG at the time. I think even Runic know that Diablo III will be ridiculously good, hopefully they can get a few fans and some much needed $$$ so they can make the Torchlight MMO they've wanted to do for some time now.

T2 you can play without having to be connected to the internet.
D3 requires a permanent internet connection.

As far as I'm concerned, any game company that follows Ubisofton's "Always on" DRM approach automatically loses, irrespective of how good the game is.

I'm almost certain they'll survive without your business :)

Saying "im not gonna buy a game coz it *requires* me to be online" in an era where the extreme majority of people who would even know what diablo 3 is, would be connected to the internet 99% of their time anyway, is just childish.

Blizzard makes quality games, they are the best at what they do, the $$ don't lie.

It always amuses me when people boycott great games for silly reasons. Oh well, just one less whiner on their forums i suppose :)

i reckon diablo 3 will win easily but torchlight well that is more for the fun times with friends and just to muck around but one thing though is the price difference is huge and if T2 can get any sort of dedicated stuff going it would be so much better. but yea i guess if we can only play with p2p it will be a bit bad unless the netcode is pretty good.

the only thing i dont like about blizzard is not the company itself but more so activision but yea nothing you can do its all about money.

Why's it gotta be VS? If you've got the money, get both, because they're both gonna rock. If you can only afford one, go with whichever you think you'll have the most fun playing. It doesn't matter, because Runic will do really well at that price point especially and is in it for the long haul..so go ahead, get Diablo 3 first...then, when I can afford to and need a break from Torchlight II, you can get Torchlight II and i'll be able to get Diablo 3. Between these games, Path of Exile, and Grim Dawn alone, we're going to be hella spoiled.
