Crysis 2 finally implements Direct X 11 support
There were some doubts about my decision to review Crysis 2 on Xbox 360 instead of PC. After all, the first game wasn't just a question, answer and condemnation of any upgrade you made to your PC for like, 12 months after its release - it was a one word summation of the state of the PC gaming industry.
Still, GameArena reviews games on whatever platform we're sent them on - plus I'd seen Crysis 2 earlier and it was pretty clear that it was not a PC game first. I mean, it didn't even have Direct X 11 support. Well no more! Graphics ****** can rejoice in the news that Crysis 2 Direct X 11 support is now available - and it's available right here on GameArena! To take advantage, you'll have to download the latest patch for the game, Crysis 2 Patch 1.9 You'll also need the optional Direct X 11 Ultra Upgrade Pack, Crysis 2 Direct X 11 Ultra Upgrade Pack And if you've got a beast of a computer (like me!) you'll need the Hi Res Textures Pack Crysis 2 Hi Res Textures Pack All told it'll set you back nearly 2.5 Gigabytes. Fortunately if you're with BigPond it's all unmetered on GameArena - and if you're not with BigPond it's still a damned fast download. If you're wondering if it's all worth it, I recommend you watch the Crysis 2 Direct X 11 Upgrade trailer, now in our videos library. Are you getting in on this Direct X 11 revolution? Do you know what Custom Shape Based Bokeh DDF is? Did you lie when you said 'Yes' in answer to the last question? Tell us in the comments!
