Batman in Arkham City gets an extra helping hand
Damn am I an idiot. Back when it was announced that Catwoman would be a playable character in the upcoming Batman: Arkham City, I jokingly said,
If I'm already Batman, why would I want to be Catwoman? You might as well make Robin a playable character. Two things have happened since I said that. The first is that I played Batman: Arkham City at E3 - and Catwoman was a playable character. More on why that's a good thing in my upcoming hands-on of the game. The second thing is that it turns out the Boy Wonder will be a playable character - if you preorder the game from certain places. ![]() If this render is anything to go by - and after getting hands-on with Catwoman - I'm actually a bit pumped to play as Robin. The Boy Wonder has had a spotty history in the mainstream media, but in the comics his many variations have all borne excellent fruit. This is Tim Drake as Robin - the third Robin after **** Grayson (currently Nightwing) and Jason Todd (the tragic Red Hood). The addition of Tim Drake as Robin also gives us a bit of a timeline in terms of where Arkham City fits in the scheme of Batman canon - after all, we're up to a fifth Robin currently - but the Arkham game franchise existed primarily outside of the actual comic continuity anyway. The team at Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment are still locking down a partner in Australia for this pre-order bonus - we'll let you know when they nail one down. Stay tuned for our Batman: Arkham City Hands-On - we played an epic amount of the game (more than we probably should have) and we'll have it for you really soon.
