If you have started a new Dragon Age: Origins character (or are considering it) to while away the months until Dragon Age II drops, BioWare has just the ticket for you.

The uber RPG outfit has announced Golems of Amgarrak a new add-on which will allow you to import your existing character (yes) or create a high level one (boo). The plot will see you heading underground to rescue a missing dwarven expedition. Well, maybe not rescue. BioWare's spiel says you're there to "save" them, but then talks of you having to "uncover the gruesome fate that befell them." Sounds like a "Get him a body bag!" moment.

Promised: "an all-new terrifying creature", loot that transfers into your Origins/Awakening campaigns, and a stiffer challenge.

Someone's about to kick the Amgarrak out of you

August 10 is the day it's going down, underground on PC, PS3 and Xbox 360. $USD5 is the price, or 400 Microsoft Points. Cheap and cheerful, even if "Amgarrak" sounds like you coughing something up.

Now if only you could take these cool heroes you've spent so much time playing with and eventually put them into Dragon Age II...oh well.

... If Dwarves made the Golems, and used Dwarven souls to animate them, why do you think they are all so tall?

Is that why all shows in Japan have giant robots as well?

I'm beginning to think Bioware are investing more time in the DLC instead of the sequel. I really doubt how the game can reach finished stage by early next year.
