Buying the game on the 360 but will probably get a ps3 when MSG4 comes out...My bro got one the other day and I was pretty impressed with Pirates 3 on bluray...don't neccessarily have a preference as far as which is a better games machine though, but'll keep my 360 anyway...

I remember when I bought the FF10 PS2 bundle a few years ago...... which came with no memory card. The bastards didn't think that people may want to save their game in an RPG.

Trust me you'd much rather want a Dual Shock 3 Sixaxis instead of two regular Sixaxis controllers. :P

Which leads me to wonder if the bundle will come with a Dual Shock 3, since they're phasing out regular Sixaxis controllers.

The Dual Shock 3 is awesome, I bought mine off PlayAsia.

As for me, I already own a PS3 and I've pre-ordered the US version. GG Sony though.

I've got the 40GB, but the lack of Backwards Compatibility doesn't bother me, since I have a PS2, connected to my Sony CRT screen. Which looks better than playing PS2 titles on the PS3 having a 4:3 image stretched to fit 16:10.

580i? Wow that sucks. I'm pretty sure the game will be 720p. Even if the game states 1080p, I'm sure it will natively be 720p upscaled to 1080p.

GTA4 is native 720p (wikipedia). I'm about to buy a PS3 now after holding off for over a year :)

The Gran Turismo 5: Prologue Bundle doesn't, so it's unlikely, in my opinion. Can only wait and see, though.

I'll be waiting for a review or two before deciding what platform I'm getting this on, though it's likely to be the 360; more friends on there to play online with.

I haven't seen anything on a PC release date anywhere; just did a quick search, too. If it is coming out on the PC, I'd imagine it to be announced in a few months.

On a related note, according to GameSpot GTA4's gone gold. So no more delays.

You got your console for $500, fantastic for you. Not everyone can get a PS3 for $500. You are basing your statement about value on your purchase price, a price that is not the RRP. So your comment is not valid.

I dont understand why they don't release it on pc at the same time. Im guessing they have exclusivity deals with sony and microsoft that bar the game from the pc. As you'd think if the game works on both the ps3 and xbox it would be easy to get it working on the pc.

Also, I don't know why you all whinge about backwards compatibility. The ps3 here in aus has software backwards compatibility the same as the xbox360. Hence why not all Xbox games work on the xbox360. Everyone scoulds sony for not having older games backwards compatible but turn a blindeye to xbox360.

Im sorry, but i have a chip on my shoulder with xboxs backwards compatibility. When I bought my 360 i sold my xbox, i could play nearly all my xbox games on my 360 except my damn battlefield2 which i really liked, reason being is a 360 version of battlefield2 was released, so of course they wanted to force us into buying the 360 version. NOT HAPPY.

I think that they make a lot more money from console game sales than pc version sales. Also with consoles there is only 2 types of setups to cater for , on pc there are heaps of processor types , different video cards etc.. so i'm sure it takes longer to finish the pc versions.

GTAIV PS3 bundle sounds overpriced if you ask me. But thats just my opinion. I'm still waiting for PS3 to get their blu-ray movie playback sorted (latest firmware sounds promising) before i hustle out to buy one. That and waiting for it to come down to a reasonable price of $499 (just wait.... because of GTA i think the PS3 will keep its current price tag but drop it in June to $499... thats my big guess). And then by then GTA could be out on PC so i'll still wait longer for the console.....certainly interesting about the package though... i think it will contain - console, dualshock3, GTAIV game, GTAIV shirt or hat, and some stickers.... hehehe. However even all of that will still not make up for the fact that the aussie GTAIV WILL BE CENSORED!

Now, I'm pretty annoyed at Xbox not having full backwards compatibility too, but the current PAL PS3 model (the 40GB) has no PS2 compatibility whatsoever. It can play some PS1 titles, apparently - I haven't tried due to a lack of owning said titles - but PS2 games are completely out of the question. They don't work at all, unless there's some hack or download out there to change that.

My ps3 model has backwards compatibility in software mode. And I had an update the other month that makes it so I can download more. As for the emulation chip who cares.. Just play them on the ps2

Just a quick 2c - I'd buy a ps3 if it had hardware backwards compatibility. The last two ps2's I bought had laser burnout on me - so Soul Calibur III, Burnout Revenge and ICO + Shadows of the colosus are just sitting there, half finished :(

So to say "play them on the ps2" is a bit silly, because well, it wasn't built to last the longest ;)

However even all of that will still not make up for the fact that the aussie GTAIV WILL BE CENSORED!

Actually. I had to send my 360 away cuz i had the red ring of death, but i sent it away and they sent it back within 2 weeks which was good.

i,ve heard of a lot of people getting the red ring of death, i,ve had my 360 a lot longer than these people and i have never had a thing wrong with it! the first xbox i did, but back to the ps3 bundle this is an awesome bundle but i think u can get it cheaper out there, i dont see any point buying it for the R.R.P u can always find cheaper than the stores

Local Myer (indooroopilly) started a 15% discount today.......now it says "home theatre" im quite sure you could argue ps3 being home theatre if they wouldnt honour it (i know im going to). Currently they have PS3 + GT Prologue for $688.........15% discount.......thats $103.2 saving, totalling $584.80.

I think ill be pushing their buttons for this price, and then buy GTA later

hi Hawky PS3 is worth getting for unreal 3 and you can use mouse and keboard on that game too if ya like ...
Plus it will be the better GTA expierience on PS3 typically they have more content in the maps more modeled builds as PS3 is at least 3 times the power of XBOX 360 .
Note the ps3 controller is quite accurate too compared to xbox also. i have both systems and own COD4 on 360 and PS3 ....
its very easy to see PS3 is the better system when you play the same game on both .

( it will contain all the outdated pc parts from last two years just like the first xbox 360 did . expect old memory modules and modded board from current model to appear in a new looking case next year... right after many have bought the 360 this year thats on its way out already.
Trying to shove more bandwidth through a pc design board is not going to work and will just cause overheating ( now theres a thought ) MS need to develope a decent motherboard that will flow data at correct speed for the memory and main chip and the system will work if they use good up to date parts . currently it costs less the 100usd to make a 360 so MS are laughing at every one that bought one or even 2 LOL . loud internal noise is not what entertainment systems shoud make .... you know the xbox is on its humming its face off. now listern very quietly is the PS3 on .. ;O)

By the way, just to give potential bundle buyers the heads up, if your fan makes any noise, take it back. I got the PS3 free with a bravia tv and they gave us a shotty one with major fan noise problems. We eventually took it back and we got a new one but I lost all my COD4 files. SHOCK HORROR!

So just the heads up, if you get a good deal for a PS3 make sure it works perfectly fine. The deal I got + the issues was probably a conicidence, but you never know what tactics these big multinational corporations will stoop too...especially when you don't have an excellent start on the market.
