So many of the songs are ****.
Dannii Minogue - I Begin To Wonder

Yeah right, what a load of BS. her album flopped, and the single was in the top 50 for less than a week.

I wonder, does Singstar have a big deal going with a certain record label? I'm not bitching at all the pop music, cos you can't exactly sing along to progressive metal, but I wouldn't be surprised if, say, Sony BMG paid X amount to get X amount of songs in Singstar.

Yeah, proper Karaoke would be heaps better, but most people who use Singstar like to do it at home. Its a good party game, that's about it.

Why would you leave a party because of SingStar? If everyone is having fun, do you think perhaps the problem might lie some where you haven't looked?

Spoiler:

not at that volume we werent, the tone deaf ones decided volume makes talent better. we decided we should locate the spare remotes, circuit breakers and the xbox in another room....and then another freakin house.

we take pre-emptive attempts at sing star avoidance now with xbox live arcade, and "forgetting" to connect the ps2.

meh. singstar's pretty good for party environments but not much else.

I usually hang around for a bit, rarely do one song, then get sick of it.
If there's lots of people its good to have in the background. And most girls love it. enough to buy all five (or however many are out atm)

i noticed that you need the singing voice of a ten year old boy to do any good at this game.

well i noticed with my little cousin he has a crap singing voice but he does really well because his voice is so high pitched. the game forces you to sing a certain way to do any good at it, which is retarded imo.

yeah, you can sing lower, but that's probably true. the system's catered towards noobs, and you can't really sight read (ie play from notes you see) so its kind of geared towards everybody who knows the song.

meh you usually end up losing against any female anyway :/

Dammit.. when are they going to put Under The Bridge on singstar? thats a mad solo song you could even do Give It Away for one of the party songs(i think its a game mode- where EVERYONE sings)

A couple of good songs.
I wonder if this one will even have an intro movie too, It seemed every new version had less and less intro, til the last one where it was just a game logo.

I'd love to know how they decide what people want to sing are too?

My dream would be if they would combine Singstar with Guitar Hero.

dOh wait they may do, it's called Rock Band. Fingers X's

Why so negative on SingStar? Even if you sound terrible, it's good for a laugh. We've had great fun with a bunch of girls and guys in a lounge room, having a few drinks and singing along together. The party mode makes it all the more interesting. Unlikely duets being formed, hotseat, etc. The team based play makes for a bit of friendly rivalry to boot.

It's either that, or have all your female friends drag you along to a karaoke bar. Embarrass yourself in front of your friends AND others, and more expensive for drinks to boot. =P

I think the poppy shittiness of the songs is the best part. The game is trying to target as big of an audience as possible, so it's understandable that they don't feature your older brothers garage band. Even though most of us don't like any of the songs on it, we still have heard most of them, and can probably participate in it if we had to at a gathering.

Alot of the singstar games have some pretty good rock in them aswell, The Clash and Motorhead are like the only two I can think of at the moment.

Just humm in the right key at the right time and you'll get crazy scores.
