A weekend in Rapture
2K Games Big Daddy title BioShock has been the talk of gaming town for the past week, the official Australian release date Friday August 24th ensuring a busy weekend in Rapture for many of you. As promised, the PC version of the playable demo is now available and you can grab it right here from GameArena files. As with the Xbox 360 demo (which Xbox 360 owners can still find on the Xbox Live Marketplace), the PC offering will feature the initial introductory section of the game with a good taste of early weaponry and plasmid abilities.

Sierra Entertainment have let us know that a playable demo for World in Conflict will be released this weekend - specifically 2am Saturday morning. For those that didn't get a taste during the extensive beta-test, World in Conflict is a client/server geared real-time strategy title set in modern times.

The demo is said to contain one multiplayer map "Seaside" with a second "Ruins" available to customers that have pre-ordered the game. A Tutorial mission "US Airbase" and a singleplayer mission "The Battle of Pine Valley" will also be included. Keep an eye on GameArena files Saturday morning, at which time we should also have plenty of local servers up for you to battle it out on. In the meantime, check out the latest World in Conflict trailer right here in our video library.

All in the Family
2K Games have announced a sequel to their free roaming 50's era mobster title Mafia. A press release confirms that Mafia 2 is in the works for "next generation consoles and Games for Windows" which more or less confirms PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 but does it leave the possibility open for a Wii instalment? Check out our Mafia 2 online gallery for the first screenshots.

The SingStar brand keeps rolling along for Sony with yet another new set-list now in the works - SingStar Rock Ballads. As the name implies, this one's chock full of Rock Ballads, with big representation from the 80's. From the presser: "Relive those lighter in the air moments as you get emotional to Starship, die in the arms of Cutting Crew and hold steady with China in your hand for T'Pau." A complete list of the announced tracks can be found here on GameArena.

Top Wii Spin
2K Sports have announced they will be bringing the acclaimed Top Spin franchise to the Nintendo Wii with a new Wii exclusive game titled simply, Top Spin Tennis. Much like the recently announced Rockstar Games presents Table Tennis for Wii, Top Spin Tennis aims to take advantage of the Wii's unique controllers to enhance the gameplay.

From the PR: "The Nunchuk controls the player and aim, while the vibration-enabled Wii Remote hits the ball like a tennis racquet and determines the style of shot ranging from a top spin move to a slice. The Wii Remote also allows players to control the power and the quality of the shot and to serve in many different ways". Look out for this one in Autumn 2008.

Leader, not bored
Way back when horses were public transport, Leaderboard, by the then-famous Carver brothers was THE golf game of choice. That's ancient history, however. Now Leaderboard Golf is back, and it's bad.

Not bad in a "terrible" sense, but bad in a Michael Jackson when he was moderately cool way. Be sure to check it out on PC - worth digging our your virtual golf cart for!
