If you only watch one trailer out of E309 - it's this one. Seriously, if any game can top this we will be very, very surprised. Our videos library just picked it up, but it's easily an early pick for trailer of E3.

Ubisoft may know cool, but their venue didn't get the memo. The Los Angeles Theatre was a steaming mess of humanity all clamouring to get in for registration.

It's times like these a heretofore useless tripod comes in handy. Just issue the old patented Kreese "sweep the leg" manouevre and suddenly the annoying pest behind you is backing off.

Telltale Games - the guys behind the Sam & Max series' reboot and the Homestar Runner based episodic game - have secured a partnership with LucasArts to create Tales of Monkey Island, a brand new game in the epic series.

It gets better - LucasArts themselves are bringing The Secret of Monkey Island to a brand new generation on the Xbox Live Arcade and PCs. Said LucasArts’ President Darrell Rodriguez in the press release,

We couldn’t be any more excited about bringing Monkey Island to today's gamers -- both in our special edition of the original classic, and through our collaboration with Telltale on the episodic series. We can’t wait for Guybrush Threepwood and LeChuck to return to gamers’ screens.

It's always terribly dangerous making early predictions on who will succeed or fail at E3, but Microsoft has given themselves every chance of walking away with being the news of the show.

Whilst the odd angry punter can be found spitting derision on the big M in the E3 media room, the majority of reports and comments from attendees has been overwhelmingly positive.

The latest chatter about the inevitable slimmed-down version of the PS3 has it being released in "Q4" and not being announced at E3.

Following up a story on Ars Technica, Brit outlet VG247.com is quoting those ever mysterious "senior sources":

A senior UK source has told VG247 that a slim version of PS3 is “100% real”. The comment was just backed up by another very senior UK industry figure. The machine will release in “Q4,” we were told today.

If at all true, a "senior source" in this case would likely be a major retail exec or a high level Sony employee, given it's a "UK" source. No communications agency would have been informed at this stage unless such a machine had been primed to be scheduled for a E3 reveal...
