Latest News And FeaturesJust a quick heads up for all of you out there enjoying last week's most awesome release - Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen. Word has come down from Capcom that both Dark Arisen and original version of Dragon's Dogma have been issued an update which may corrupt save files for some users on both Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.
![]() If you've been fortunate enough to avoid the update so far, Capcom suggests backing up your save data - either to the cloud if you have access to it (through PlayStation Plus or Xbox LIVE Gold membership) or to an external device like a USB flash drive. Instructions for backing up externally are available via PlayStation.net and Xbox.com. If you can't backup, or are having continual trouble with broken saves, playing offline will be the way to go until Capcom pushes the fix for the update. Fortunately, Capcom are on it and hope to have a solution soon. I think I would vomit if I lost my save, and I'm nowhere near the Dark Arisen content yet. My condolences to anyone who has lost theirs.

Far Cry 3's stand alone expansion Blood Dragon is not what you'd usually expect as a follow up to a game set on a modern day tropical island with cassowaries and crazy pirates. Unlike its progenitor, Blood Dragon takes you into the future of the past, a cavalcade of glowing neon, improbable weapons and explosions, heaps of explosions.
And best of all, Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon is available tomorrow on PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, giving you the opportunity to live all your Michael Biehn dreams beneath an eye-watering red sky. Having played only a bit of Blood Dragon, I can't comment on it's gameplay - but it is certainly dedicated to its retro-future theme. It's like an FPS Run Saber - you can almost see the 'futuristic' action-platformer it would have been had it been built in the SNES/Mega Drive era. The launch trailer for Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon is embedded below - it's currently only available on Youtube however, so it is metered content. It's totally worth checking out however, it is probably one of the most ridiculous things you will see all week. Are you buying Blood Dragon, or have you bought it already? Let us know in the comments below! Rockstar has released the new Grand Theft Auto V trailers they promised were coming, showcasing the lives of our three main protagonists this time around - Michael, Franklin and Trevor. We already knew the game was set to be released on the 17th of September, but now we can see what we're getting into!
Michael is the mobster, Tommy Vercetti getting old and going through marital issues and a mid-life crisis - sort of like a less Italian Tony Soprano. Franklin is the gang-banger, CJ if he never left Grove Street and is only now trying to escape the turf war. And Trevor is the wildcard baby, a hillbilly drug dealer with no equivalent in previous games. You can watch the trailer embedded below - it will hit our servers later, but it's currently available through Youtube, so it is metered content. I think it looks awesome - I'm most looking forward to checking out Franklin's story, being the CJ fan I am. What are your thoughts on the trailer? Let us know in the comments below! Update: The videos have made their way to our library - separated into one for each character. Click the links for Michael, Trevor and Franklin. I didn't want to give any of them precedence, so none of the videos have been embedded below. Instead I've embedded a gif showing another rich old guy with marital issues, an idiot and a black man named Franklin! ![]() Techland announced the end result of Project Hell today - Hellraid, a First Person Adventure game set in a world where the armies of Hell have stormed the realm of man - and only the best have the skills necessary to survive. Like Techland's Dead Island, Hellraid features melee combat, four player co-op and randomly generated loot. It also adds in magic - with four classes to play as - and a Game Master system governing loot and enemy placement. Also, co-op players will compete against each other for kills and quest completion - which should be interesting.
![]() At the very least, it can't be any worse than Dead Island: Riptide, which I reviewed yesterday. No release date has been set for Hellraid, but it will be available on PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 sometime later this year. I'll give this a shot, assuming they fix the heck out of their engine - what do you think? Let us know in the comments below! Ubisoft has announced the release date for Watch Dogs, the next big IP from Ubisoft Montreal - the makers of Assassin's Creed - and that release date is the 21st of November on PC, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, WiiU! The game will also be a launch title for the PlayStation 4 and is planned for other super top secret next generation consoles.
Ubisoft have also taken the opportunity to announce Watch Dogs special editions - the Dedsec Edition, which comes with an Aiden Pearce figurine - the Vigilante Edition, which gives players a... hat and a mask - the Uplay Exclusive Edition, exclusively available through Uplay - and The ANZ Special Edition, which is not particularly special compared to the others. You can check them all out on Ubisoft's official store. A pretty cool new trailer was also released for Watch Dogs today - and you can watch it embedded below. It's via Youtube, so it is metered content, but I'll be certain to update this post when it hits our servers. Are you looking forward to Watch Dogs? Let us know in the comments below! Update: It's now available through GameArena quota free.
Watch Dogs "Out of Control" Gameplay TrailerPosted: 30 Apr 13 | 168 views | 153.1MBIf you're only peripherally aware of comic books - maybe you only watch the movies, or you've only seen the Arrow - you might not know what Infinite Crisis refers to as a title. The story arc told the sort of story you'd want for a video game - it pit a heap of popular characters against one another to see who would come out on top.
Obviously the story didn't get resolved through violence alone - that's rarely the case for comic books - but the premise still exists. What if superheroes and villains from many different universes all came together to fight it out? The beauty of the different universes thing is that it means you can give your heroes different abilities, and the beauty of the epic DC Elseworlds library is that you have a vast array of options to draw upon. ![]()

CCP - those crazy scandinavians responsible for Eve Online, Dust 514 and (eventually) a World of Darkness MMO - revealed today that they are going to bring the world of Zero-Sec space to television. Why? I don't know. It's got to be more interesting than actually playing the game is.
The stories for the tv show will be based on those of real players, submitted via the True Stories From The First Decade page, and it's a pretty exciting idea. Finally we'll have the pleasure of watching a TV show where the "Goon Swarm" fights a steady and protracted battle against the likes of SMASH and R0ADKILL until leader kartoon decided he was bored playing Eve Online and he stole all their money and disbanded the whole corporation. I'm genuinely excited to see how they portray that without it looking like the stupidest **** alive. The series has Baltasar Kormákur - the Director of Contraband and 2 Guns - involved on a 'creative partnership' level, whatever that means. ![]() Not pictured - mining space rocks for hours on end. Remember way, way back when X-Com was first being rebooted into XCOM, a first person shooter being developed by 2K Marin - the Australian branch of 2K? Kreese was with us back then, doing his characteristically excellent work. Then Firaxis started making their own XCOM game, the fantastic strategy game XCOM: Enemy Unknown and the first person reboot started fading into the background.
At first many people were happy - they wanted an XCOM that kept true to the strategic flavour of the original games, but once we had that, it began to seem like we were missing out. The FPS may be nothing like we remembered, but we had Enemy Unknown now, so what was the harm in releasing an ancilliary title in a different genre? There is no harm, which is why 2K announced that the FPS - rebranded The Bureau: XCOM Declassified would be released on PC, Playstation 3 and Xbox 360 on August 20th. The title will apparently still be first-person, with third person cover mechanics and a strategic element in which you can survey the battlefield and order your squad mates. There will be permanent consequences to your actions too, in traditional X-Com style. The game came with a live-action trailer, which you can watch embedded below - it is a Youtube clip, so it will be metered content, but we'll be certain to update the post once it hits the GameArena servers. Personally live-action trailers always make me suspicious, but what do you think, are you looking forward to The Bureau? Let us know in the comments below! David Cage's new game - Beyond: Two Souls, is the first video game to debut at the Tribeca Film Festival - the Manhattan-based film festival set up by Robert De Niro, Jane Rosenthal and Craig Hatkoff as a response to the September 11 attacks. Well, video game seems like a loose definition.
The first rumours of its showing at the Festival were last week, when pictures of the game's script began circulating - and over the weekend a trailer and a 35 minute gameplay trailer made their way on to the internet - and you can check them out now. The game appears to feature all of David Cage's signature marks - magic hobos, ridiculously hammy voice work, an uncomfortably mechanical looking sex scene - and it stars Ellen Page and Willem Dafoe. The videos are currently only available through Youtube so they are metered content - I've embedded the trailer below and if you'd like to watch the 35 minutes of gameplay you can click on this link. Be warned though, there may be spoilers. What do you think, are you looking forward to playing/watching Beyond: Two Souls? Let us know in the comments below! Update: The videos are now available on GameArena quota free - the trailer is embedded below and the gameplay video is right here.
