Not promising anything, but who is interested in a Tourney on GA.

I am thinking to start mid Feb 2010 but am open for suggestions.

Please only the Clan leader or appointed representative.

Depending on the number of clans it will either be round robin or elimination.

5. Don't do a ladder. Do a league. A ladder means less activity, you're giving teams control on how often they want to play. In theory this is great, but in practicality it's useless. A league, once a week play a game. Get the two teams to organise matches via the forums. Confirm details from both teams and hire out a GC.

This is different to the normal GA ladders, but Trem's never had one, and wont be active enough to sustain a proper ladder. So you get each team to play each other once, or twice depending on the number of teams. Last I checked there were like 6 clans in Trem, in that case you'd do play each team twice. You set maps, don't let users have control, it's a fairer ground. It'll also stop the **** of ATCS x15670. You get all the normal/playable maps even if they're unpopular and you spread them out each week.

EG:
Week 1: Tremor
aV vs UG
Ks vs HG
A vs B
X vs Y

Week 2: UTCS
aV vs KS
UG vs A
X vs HG
B vs Y

You then grab the top 1/3 or 1/4, again depends on numbers. Spread the finals out over a month. You have your prelim final where for example, the bottom 2 teams need to win or they get dropped. The top 4 (example) can lose first, but must win the second game.

AusTourney was a round robin and though it worked out, a league lets teams get their act together and doesn't drop the crap team for playing the best team. Even if there is a loser bracket which in the end has a chance at the final it's not as friendly. Trem isn't really a competitive game.

Why not just run this on AussieAssault? Wider community base, active admins and more good servers.

And I was told FisherP was meant to run things like this on AA?

I don't know of a prize I could ask the GA admins about a prize, but I wouldn't hold my breath.... we could ask though.

GA, AA... I'd like them to be on GA (as posted on AA forums) to bring a bit more life back to GA. Maybe even some old school players too.

Everyone would play on GA. There are a lot of oldies that refuse to play on the newer servers and have greater trust in the GA ops due to the rigorous app process that no one seems to pass.

Regarding prizes, GA admins might loosen up if season 1 was successful, I'd say. Definitely wouldn't work prizes for season 1.

Any further thought on the layout, fisher?

Well, AA is trying to organise one too, I don't want to run a tournament in competition. However, only two clans have registered here.

Because this is GA, and GameOps should be looking after the interests of GA, not doing things for other communities and servers. (there a rules about gameops not being admins for other isps/gsps for e.g.)

If there was enough teams GA would offer some sort of prize.

Have you advertised on clans' websites/forums? The NewGen kids are only familiar with GA being full of hackers and lacking GameOps.

No I haven't advertised it on clan sites. There is an advert each game on every server to register intrest on the GA forums though.

In your estimation is GA still that bad? I haven't really heard a complaint in a long time.

I haven't really played in a long time That's just how it was when I last played. Word of mouth travels really fast and GA could be fine now but gossip still makes it look bad. You might need to ask somewhere what people's opinions are of GA on Trem.

Yeah, I wouldn't want to play a scrim on a non-GA server.



Meh, most people just complain to either try and fit in or curry favour with the owners of other servers.

I can tell you why no-one has signed up.

Not enough clan leaders play on GA.
