Over the past week GA has been pretty much unplayable due to games getting cycled constantly. The only way to play has been to make a password protected server and tell people the password and thats not great if you want to play big games.

Is there nothing we can do? Are we so strictly bound by rules and regulations that we can't implement some sort of code to stop this? Hell, I don't even know what cycling is or how it works, but if people can do it surely it can be prevented somehow.

I don't think this game has active ops anymore.

Yeah, it just gets to me how the Gamearena server is so crippled by its own Gamearena regulations that it can't protect itself against idiots who like to cycle servers for their own enjoyment. I've always liked playing on GA, but now that it has no GUID identification system. its has no defence against anyone, its a cheaters heaven. Australia is really too small an area to start subnet banning, and yet its easy to change your IP and do whatever the hell you want. And yet the only thing that was stopping people were GUID's, now they are gone the server is defenceless.

The GameArena Tremulous community is almost nothing. Most people don't even post here, that's ridiculous. Any sign of a ladder is a lost hope.

GUID's are back. No idea who put them back (Storma?) but I sing praises too them. Are there more build points too, or am I going crazy?

The real cyclers name is not -|HG|-Satan, thats a real player, who the guy was aliasing as. I am sick of people spreading rumours about who they 'heard' was the cycler. Nobody has any proof, these rumours do nobody any good. Unless it has come from a GameOp who has done a lot of IP cross referencing, and has found out for sure, AKA a reliable source, don't make accusations because you will inevitably start wars.

For all the rumors flying about you'd think there was some great big gamearena conspiracy to kill off tremulous.

Funnily enough, that's not the case. There's one gameop left handling tremulous and that's storma. He's not around very much at all and whilst I don't blame him with the immaturity of the community he's the one left to deal with your ****.

Rebound and I both quit opping tremulous because whilst it was possible to moderate you lot you never got the hint or grew up.

The saddest thing out of all of this is that rebs was campaigning for a new qvm for the servers for over six months, and when he finally got it you all poo-hooed his effort and generally continued to badmouth him and myself.
