Often when I play L4D I can't help but notice that dedicated servers are mostly provided by gamearena. This is great and all but being a bigpond member it annoys me that my download usage is metered on these servers.

Is there anyway I can play L4D unmetered? Can I do this through the arena client?

Arena client is pretty annoying. What you should do is join the GameArena group on your Steam profile so the servers pop up ingame on the bottom right.

Thanks Wally for the reply, although it'll probably still meter me during play if I don that, but at least it'll make searching games on good servers easier.

No, it won't (Or at very least, you have every right to dispute the charges) since it's come from a GameArena server. It doesn't matter HOW you connect to it, only that you're there.

BigPond filter what is unmetered or metered depending on the IP.

All GameArena IPs are unmetered, thus you can connect to the server any way you feel like.
