I posted this is another thread on the Ausdod forums and felt this could prompt others from GA to follow:-
The Victorian bushfires have taken a huge toll on the people of Country Victoria.
181 Confirmed deaths
80 people missing
1800 homes gone
7500 people displaced
400,000 + Hectares burnt
All I can say is if you have money to give them give it. Regardless of how much or how little it will help. To give you some idea, the Red Cross in conjunction with many people and affiliations have raised over \$100,000,000 dollars. Now, if you divide that by the people displaced it works out to be about \$14k per person so in a family of 4, it's a shade over \$55k. Now it wont be split like this but you get a picture of how far \$100,000,000 will go. Pledge what you can to help these poor people who must have lived through what can only be described as 'Hell of Earth'. You only have to listen to the stories to get a sense of our resolve as Australians and the courage these people have mustered up this past week.

does some of that money go to the floods in north qld?
i no its not as bad as the fires but the damage is in the millions?

Or you could give to the QLD floods, where 60% of the state was under water and some areas have been under water for 6 odd weeks.

yeah i was really drunk and won a minor on the pokies on night, so i donated like 100 bucks to the red cross, wasnt much but yeah my job pays **** so, yea
