Now i been playing on these servers alot lately but it becomes an issue to me that people have the right to say what they like on the mic and have no consequences.

I hear people getting abused and ghost people they dont like positions.

I even believe an Op helped tell one of the players off who was getting abused.

I think we need more Game Ops or more active Ops

Its not so simple as just punishing the players who break the rules. They have to be demoed and warned the appropriate amount of times before anything can be done. I currently cannot be bothered with the immature fighting between some regulars on these servers, if they believe that the abuse they are receiving is strong enough then they should submit an incident report of themselves being abused. As for me telling off a player who was being abused, he was being abused and told off because he repeatedly camps spawn on every map despite people's complaints and my warnings.

So they break the rules being abusive and don’t get in trouble in other words. I believe both sides should be kicked and warned. For me to be told I don’t give a crap and the Game Ops won’t do anything to me, is a slap in the face to me and all players and the terms and conditions.

As admin I would assume you wouldn’t want people to say such things as it shows lack of care by Game Ops and shows they run the server. Also I wouldn’t care if they are regular players as the server is growing in size every few days.

Also I find it more annoying that the so called regular players tell off the new players for even being on the server.

For the type of thing you're suggesting I'd have to be demoing every time I played on the server and I simply don't have the hard drive space to do that. I can't kick someone, or warn them enough times before banning them without demoing the incident, and since I don't know when they're going to start abusing each other its kinda hard for me to know when to start demoing. Also what makes you think I'm going to be on the server all the time when you're playing to see you get abused by someone and straighten them out. Start demoing if its continuous and submit a report.

This goes back to one of my points. We need more Game Ops, so this stuff is controlable. At the moment your the only Game Op for those servers?

Now I am not blaming you or any other Op, im just stating that this should not be tolerated. If your unable to control the matter, can you please direct me to someone who can. Being the person you report to or even Bigpond.

Again i wont this issue resolved because I am finding it more and more offencive when I play and since we cant UP-HOLD the terms and conditions. We need some kinda of solution to what can and if this means MIC chats are banned then so be it.

GameOps have their own lives outside of games, you can't expect them to come in and patrol the servers 24/7. Once again, even a GameOp has to demo offences and we're not going to be around all the time, so if you're being abused then demo the incident yourself, we may be afk or something else and not be able to hear the abuse or concentrate on it. Please submit demoes yourself instead of relying on us all the time.

I Understand what you are saying. I would like to know if Game Arena hires more Game Ops. I also understand its easier said then done but I believe if the offer was there and you would find some really good people who would like to become Game Op and be good at it.

GameOps are volunteers, meaning they are not paid for their services. As volunteers, they are using their own time to help out the community.

I'm sorry to hear that you are being abused on GA servers, but the only way to make sure something is done about it is to record the incident.

To initiate a demo, open the console by pressing the ~ key (if it is not enable go to Options > Keyboard > Advanced > Enable Developer Console) and type "record ", you will also need to get the Steam Id of the offender as well, to obtain this, in the console type "status" and look for the offender's nick which will be followed by something like this, "STEAM_0:1:1234567", copy that and head to the Incident Report help page (located above, and below for convenience) and enter all the details.

Unfortunately we cannot have GameOps paroling the servers 24/7 as not only would this be extremely tedious, but GameOps have many other duties to attend also. So recording and reporting abuse is the most effective course of action.

You can also try adding various GameOps (such as square above) to your friends list to contact them. You may also consider The Arena program, it has a chat function where GameOps like to hang out (just select CSS and if there's trouble, try reporting it in there).

How would one apply to be a Game Op?

To apply to become a GameOp, please visit the link below.

However, keep in mind that positions are limited and have strict requirements (thorough understanding of the rules and a history to back that up).
