My brother playes DIablo 2 and a new patch just came out You would think that if they are still making patches for a game this old they would concider releasing new ones for css wouldnt you? rofl

Who is they and why do they patch games from two different developers?

well im guessing Blizzard released the patch for Diablo 2 and concidering how big WoW is im sure valve can spare a bit of time for cs you would think

If I worked for Valve I wouldn't patch this game either. They released ONE patch for 1.6 not all that long ago... they were met with a constant stream of ***** and moaning from the general community as it changed the mechanics of gameplay and they demanded it be changed back...

I remember one CS:S patch when they fixed the head-height bug (which was partitioned by a previous Op here), they also added the new radar... The head height bug was fixed, but there was nothing but whinging about the radar as it made the game more 'noob-friendly' - all those people that spent the last 400 hours of their day-lives perfecting their 1337ness didnt like that at all!

If the community doesn't like it when the games are patched (in any way shape or form), then they can't complain when they don't come about!

Its alot of the reason why some people prefer 1.6 over source due to the machanics of the game. If those players were to convert from 1.6 to Source, the would instantly become 'noob' again, so they say. After all the time they perfected the game, converting to Source would be to painful for them, hence they didn't like the change.

well d2 is still played by heaps of people but still i just think its weird

The Counter Strike community are generally a bunch of whiny perfectionist pricks that don't appreciate a developer supporting the game, whether that be bugfixes or changes in the game itself.

Valve have sucked it up and support games that are far more flexible.

Should have just stopped there tbh.
