As a customer locked into the "fantastic" bigpond internet plans, I don't think I will invest in a game so heavily focused on online play.

But I did play the Beta, not too shabby of a game but not excellent either. But I would get it if the price goes down low enough.

Not too keen on competitive console shooters. BFBC2 will be my calling.

most BF and COD games are competive online shooters. With weapon unlocks, upgrades etc. Whats the difference to MAG ?

The best part about MAG is
1 = U get more points for completing the objectives
2 = Its ALL about Team Work
3 = 256 player FPS Mayhem :)
4 = Its not just run around and shoot people. In fact u get less points doing this.

I got it on Pre Order. Carnt wait till its out. Plus with the fixes that the full game gets over the Beta it will be allot better.

So it's everything Battlefield 2 was (all be it with a higher player cap)?

I am going to give it a go for sure.

I don't know how good it is going to be, I have seen low and mid-high review scores for it but I like the sound of it so I will see how it turns out.

its totally worth a look hey. The beta was great. yeah they had some connection issues through out the week of the beta but thats to be expected. They have added heaps of new servers to cope with it and fixed allot of the problems from the beta. I carnt wait for it to be released on the 11th Feb.

And im pretty sure we are getting Aussie / NZ servers to play on so it should be sweet as.

Bring on the 11th of Feb :)

I'm not super pumped for it like I am for BF:BC2 but I am pretty keen to check out how the whole 256 players work out, could be a great game if everyone playing put in the effort to work as a team. So, yeah, I'll be picking it up on the 11th.

is it really 256 people at once? I heard that it's like pockets of smaller numbers of people in separate parts of the battlefield

^ Its 256 at the same time hence the bullet **** fest. However you can't play 256 players out of the box, when you first start the game its 64players a map. Then when you level up to level 10 you can then access the 256player modes.

Which makes perfect sense if you consider that you'd get raped by snipers when you charge in with crappy weapons.

Each team has 4 platoons and each platoon has 4 squads. As far as I know the commander designates different objectives to each platoon and that is what's meant to keep everyone spead out. The incentive is an XP bonus but whether it works out or not, we'll find out.

yeah the squad leaders designate the objectives and then u work as a team to do em. You get lots of points if u complete the objectives which means u level up faster and can unlock the gear u want.

Biggles :- it is only 256 player on some game modes after lvl 10 (i think they have droped it to lvl 8 fro the release) some are 64 to start off with.

The maps are pretty big so yeah u end up being spread out within your squad doing the objectives ur asked to do.

Basically it all comes down to Team work. That is what will make or break the game experience for ppl. SVER i think seem to play better as a team as Raven and Valor seem to have the younger ppl on those teams and just try to kill everyone ( u dont get allot of points doing this) ..
