For those eagerly waiting for Uncharted 2 or still sitting on the fence on whether to purchase the game.



PSM 3 (no this isn't a Sony owned mag) has just scored the game 21/20 (105%).

They have noted that the game has a meaty length, deep gameplay mechanics and superb graphics. This game truly marks a real accomplishment for the PS3.

Obviously this is a publicity stunt to get people to buy magazines and at the same time appease Sony for breaking the review embargo. But still can't see this game getting anything lower than 90%.

I've already pre-ordered this game, so if you haven't, hurry up and do so.

Love the score 21/20 & the fact they refer to the game as setting new benchmarks. This after they gave KZ2 a 9/10 so they were really impressed with U2.

Shouldn't be surprised really, it is after all BD & the CELL leading the way yet again. Don't know what the 360 can come up with but after MGS4, KZ2 & now Uncharted2 its starting to look outdated in a hurry.

I'm still worried about the storyline, I really don't mind having a weaker gameplay mechanic as long as they don't do a zombie-fest at the end. Suppose we'll have to wait till other reviews pop up after noticing PSM 3 has broken the embargo.

Well maybe they work under the Famitsu system, where 4 judges give a score out of 5, or simply each category graphics, story etc are out of 5.

there isn't a convention for reviewing games similar to hotels, resturaunts and movies, so they could review a game out of 1 or 999999 for all I care. True gamers check out the comments and not the scores.

can't wait to see how Metacritic convert that score of 21/20, lol.

As for critical comments from those above as soon as you accept the truth it'll be easier to deal with. It's getting hard to ignore with KZ2, MGS4 & Uncharted2 also lookin the goods.

Course if that isn't enough then perhaps we can get online & I can stomp the lot of you in the mp.

Played a bit of the first one. The combat mechanics were balls, the only thing hard about the game was having to use a console controller to aim but thats a given. Visually wasn't impressed either.

But must say what I saw from e3 sold me on the sequel so will definitley be picking up when it hits.

I recently played Gears of War. I found it to be awesome, and I give it 104/10.

Its not getting hard to ignore them. Its easy. KZ2 was an average game thats all there is too that. MGS4 was a good game, had a great story, but did not use the power of the cell the way you always claim.

As for uncharted 2, how about we wait til the game is released rather than relying on a fanboy mag to get actual opinions. I for one am looking forward to the game, the first one was fantastic, had great moments and i am hoping the second has the same as well. (Of course as long as they fix the stupid amount of bad guys..)

Uncharted 2 will be the game for all ps3 owners this xmas, it will be the game that people are talking about. And do you think anyone will go, "oh did u see that part where the cell really helped" No. All you will hear is how the game is great.

Then perhaps you need to explain to me how so many ps3 games are managing to set the new standard / benchmark in gaming, KZ2, MGS4 & now Uncharted 2 have all set new standards in gaming.

Those games are only possible on the ps3 & CELL otherwise we would seem games of similar quality on other consoles, especially with the 360 having spent a year longer in the marketplace than the ps3.

gamespot & 1up scored the game at 90 while IGN scored Perfect Dark at 84 hardly anything like 11/10 so the test for Uncharted2 will be to see how the same major reviewers score it.

Nice to see I'm not the only 1 who noticed the change in mood or comments. When Gears was still new it was all about graphics & the Xenos blah blah.

As Uncharted & R&C hit the market & began showing hints of what the CELL & BD was capable of the comments changed to it all being gameplay.

Its funny how we don't hear that argument so much anymore with MGS4 & KZ2 on the market. The other argument thats dried up is that of sales as the ps3 has steadily increased in sales.

Soon the fanboys won't be able to make any arguments & with only 3 years into the lifecycle things are starting to get interesting.

Here's one you can look into now rrunner - PSM also gave GTA:SA a 21/20 back in the day. What did the major reviewers give that..?

For all you graphic whores out there (you know who you are, Mr/Mrs High Definition) Uncharted 2 delivers quality visuals by the treasure trove full.

Uncharted 2 teaches you the ropes as you climb a train carriage dangling off a god damn cliff. You can see for miles to as the stunning mountainous landscape spreads out across the screen. No pop-up, just awesome detail.

Now this will sound **** - and I’ve previously discussed this with a colleague who agrees - but Uncharted 2 *really* blurs the line between games and films. The rollercoaster actions will make you laugh, scare the crap out of you and make you sad. And this is more than you can say for most big budget movies.

So finally, Sony get its long-awaited killer-app. And what a beauty it is. Uncharted 2 not only sets benchmarks for visuals (the lighting effects alone are stunning), story and sheer fun, but it also sets a worryingly high target for all that follow it to match. Simply put, Uncharted 2 is a reason to own a PS3.

You're almost always with someone else this time around, which was something that I was a little concerned about when I had originally heard this as friendly AI almost always gets in the way. Not here, and not ever.

GRAPHICS:
It's impossible to talk about Uncharted 2 without mentioning its visuals. I've already touched on the fantastic presentation in the cutscenes, but there are some scenes that you'll play in that will have your jaw on the floor. The world is packed with bits of detail that do nothing for gameplay, but do a lot to draw you into the world and make you feel like this is a real place. The texture detail is astounding, the amount of random stuff everywhere is mind boggling, the lighting is some of the best we've ever seen and the overall art direction is phenomenal. And of course, let me not forget to mention the amazing animation, killer explosions and pretty much every other pixel on the screen.

It's kind of amazing to say this, but the actual gameplay oftentimes looks better than the cutscenes. This is truly one of the best looking games that I've ever seen, and you could easily argue that it's the best overall on the PlayStation 3 (when you can argue that against the likes of Killzone 2 and Metal Gear Solid 4, well, that's saying something).

Lol- Metal Gear Solid 4, Street Fighter 4, and I've been really enjoying Devil May Cry 4 recently.

I know, you'll say SF4 isn't an exclusive but I don't care, it's a great game that i love to play on my ps3.

Newsflash : random enters conversation midway through, shows that he knows nothing of it.

I had access to the demo, and if you want my opinion, you don't need it, because it plays exactly as you've seen and read in videos and reviews: truly brilliant.

My only criticisms would come from the fact it runs on 720p and is really jagged on my 1080p screen, but I suppose you can't help that.

I never played Uncharted, since I hated the demo. I presume I won't like Uncharted 2 for the same reasons, but I do want to have a look at what all the fuss is about. Not willing to pay for a game I likely won't play, I would like a demo.

PC Zone gave the original Quake a score of 11/10 and the two word verdict that it was, and I quote "**** Brilliant"

The notoriously harsh PC Accelerator gave Half-Life a score or 11/10 too.

Both games are infinitely superior to any **** you stroke your raging boner over, rrunner and were originally released on a infinitely superior platform.
